A very beautiful little palace
built at the end of ‘700 in the center of the medieval town of Baschi. The
house was bought, at the beginning of last century, by my gandfather Bernardino
who has lived there with his wife Paolina and their son Lucio, my father.
Later, this last got married with my mother Maria Antonietta and five
children (among them myself as the fourth), have grown up happily within its
walls. Our family has lived here until
1986. Today the house is completely renewed and a part of our big family is
back. A curiosity: the house passed through very “intense” historical
moments. It was the Podestà’s house during the Fascism (the Podestà was the
title of the fascist mayor) and was sequestered by the German Army for their
Headquarters, during the Second World War. The renovation works, started in
June 2011 and finished in February 2012, made the house really very beautiful
and welcoming." M. Raffaella Polegri The house is only 10 km. far from
Orvieto and 7 km. from the motorway A1. It has a delightful position with a wonderful view on the Tiber
valley and a big terrace to enjoy it. It is ideally placed to discover the
countryside by tracking, mountain bike, or horse. In a few minutes, you can
reach swimming pools, tennis fields and sport centers. By car you can get to
Rome in one hour, to Florence in one hour and a half, Todi in 20 minutes and
Viterbo in 40 minutes. It is well connected also by bus
and train. |
